Staff Accountant 
Modern Hydrogen
Woodinville, WA - Full Time – Hybrid 

Modern Hydrogen has an immediate opening for a proactive and detail-oriented Staff Accountant. As a member of the G&A team, you will directly support the development of Modern Hydrogen’s breakthrough energy technology by ensuring our accounting records are complete and accurate. You will be expected to work on site at Modern Hydrogen’s headquarters in Woodinville, WA at least 3 days per week to foster deeper connections within our close-knit team. You will also be expected to attend quarterly company events in the Seattle area. These events are geared towards fostering connections between colleagues, building a strong team, and having fun together.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to): 

• Process Bi-Monthly and Bi-Weekly payroll and prepare associated journal entries. 

• Review AP invoices for expense coding accuracy and support AP in Vendor set-up. 

• Maintain Fixed Asset registers and prepare monthly depreciation entries. 

• Maintain Prepaid Expense listings and prepare monthly associated journal entries. 

• Assist in preparation of ASC842 lease related month end entries. 

• Assist with month end close process, including the preparation of adjusting and accruing entries. 

• Assist in preparing customer invoices and revenue adjusting entries as needed. 

• Match daily banking transactions in accounting system and review or prepare month end cash reconciliations as needed. 

• Maintain company credit cards and assist in reviewing and/or preparing expense reports. 

• Support the month end close and balance sheet account reconciliations. 

• Support external audit and tax requirements, providing schedules, account reconciliations and supporting documentation. 

• Assist in establishing and maintaining asset and inventory tracking process. 

• Support quarter and year-end close process. 

• Prepare specialized reports and accounting data analysis as requested. 

• Other duties as assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Strong ethics and respect for the handling of confidential information. 

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. 

• 2 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance positions, previous experience in corporate accounting roles is a plus. 

• Knowledge of US GAAP standards and updated guidance. 

• Knowledge of accounting controls and appropriate segregation of duties. 

• Strong attention to detail with emphasis on meeting deadlines. 

• Highly organized with the ability to manage a variety of projects simultaneously. 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills. 

• Good computer skills, proficient in MS365. 

• Prior ERP experience. 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Recent NetSuite ERP experience. 

• Experience with startups or fast-growing small businesses (50-100 people).
